    Layered metal composites explosive weld two or more kinds of metals with different properties and difficult to weld by ordinary methods through explosives, and have excellent properties, simple process and easy to process. Therefore, copper clad steel plate for industry has been widely used once it appears. At present, the most widely used laminated metal composites are titanium/steel, stainless steel/steel, nickel/steel, zirconium/steel, copper/steel, and other composite plates. Copper-steel composite materials are widely used in military industry, cooking utensils, building decoration, and other industries due to their advantages of good corrosion resistance, good conductivity and thermal conductivity, beautiful appearance, and low price.

     

    2 UT flaw detection

     

    The large area copper/steel composite plate was prepared by using the process of explosive height H=78 mm and gap h=14 mm. After explosive cladding, the large area composite plate was tested by UT. The test results showed that except the detonator area (less than φ 20 mm), other areas were 100% combined.

    3Mechanical property

     

    The mechanical properties of copper clad steel plate for industry were tested, and the sampling position was set at the short end of the composite plate. Shear strength test results: interface shear strength far exceeds the target value; The internal/external bending test results show that there is no crack and delamination at the bonding interface after bending.

     

    4 Interface morphology

     

    After explosive cladding, the transverse and longitudinal interface morphology of the composite plate was analyzed by metallography. The transverse and longitudinal metallographic examination results of the interface of copper/steel composite plate are shown in Fig. 4 and Fig. 5, and the composite interface has protrusions and vortices. It is mainly used in the process of explosive welding.

    The plate T2 and Q235B steel substrates collide at high speed under high temperature and high pressure, and the metal jet solidifies after intense plastic deformation at the interface. Plastic deformation occurs near the interface, and the closer the interface is, the more severe the deformation is. It can also be seen from Figure 4 and Figure 5 that the copper/steel interface presents a regular sine wave with small amplitude and belongs to small wave-like combination. There are no intermetallic compounds affecting the bonding strength such as melting block and melting layer at the bonding interface, which ensures the bonding quality of the copper-steel composite plate.
